My great-grandparents, grandparents, and my mom were Republicans, but would be very angry at the folks using that name today for an entirely different set of values.

The “wise use” crowd reminds me of a six-year old with a piggy bank. Once it gets a little money in it they want to break it open and go spend it. Doesn’t matter what for, just spending it is the important thing. Right now we don’t need any fossil fuel production above what we already have. But they want to dig it out nowand sell it for a fraction of what it will be worth later when supplies get tight.

So very sad. Teddy Roosevelt did such a great job with monuments, land use, and conservation….. and pResident tRump is working like hell to negate so much.

Is Jared already buying up land that formerly belonged to us, the people? No, come to think of it, he’s deeply in debt which is why he’s so desperately trying to arrange bribes (sorry, meant to say “loans”) from foreign governments.

If TR was alive today, as well as the framers of the constitution, They would be using the 2nd amendment for the express reason that it’s In the constitution for. h The “powers That Be” Hate the Constitution and I believe that the one in the White House is their Hand Picked Puppet for getting rid of it. Every Ex. Order has been against the Constitution and takes precedence over it.

Ever notice that the presidential oath doesn’t require as much loyalty to the people of the country as the military enlistment oath?

Presidential Oath:“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Enlistment Oath:“I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”

What if one part of the military oath contradicts the other? Trump’s actions have shown him to be a domestic enemy of the people, yet the oath requires obedience to presidential orders. How could reconciliation of this contradiction apply to a military coup and the ouster of Trump and his cronies? Just things I wonder when reading the news and working on my frown lines…

Vote the Republicans out! Vote them out in 2018… Vote them out in 2020… Keep voting them out until we get our country back the way it’s supposed to be. Then keep voting them out in order to keep our country the way it’s supposed to be. This could be the beginning of a wonderful political revolution to retake control of our government, to make it back into a government of “by the people, for the people”. Not just a government for the elite 1%.

Donnie’s attempt to radically shrink the size of two federal monuments and give the now ‘exposed’ land “back” to the state of Utah is just WRONG and pathetically short sided. The massive deposits of coal that exist beneath the surface of those two monuments ARE NOT NEEDED in today’s American economy but will probably be ‘mined’ just because they “can”!

And, by the way, we don’t ‘mine’ in the old way by digging holes and sending men down to dig it out by hand. Nowadays, we just scrape the top off the land and dig by massive explosions and huge machines and miniscule amounts of human labor. Now, at the moment, the law states that, after the pit’s been dug and the coal’s been extracted, the mining company is “required” to replace and reform the land they’ve disgraced. It’s rather like pulling the victim’s skirt back down after she’s been raped! And do you honestly believe that even THAT will be required when they’ve finally finished?

It’s truly frightening seeing TR with a frown. Every picture of him he always has the famous broad toothy grin. Wonderful image, Creator Brian. Too bad the inspiration is so real…

The list of candidates on the ballot should have “None of the Above” or “None of These” at the bottom. Those votes should be as fully listed and counted as any votes for those listed, above.

I believe many more voters would show up to vote, if they could vote their real choices and their votes would be counted. And, yes, “None of the Above” is a real choice and, most probably, more realistic than the listed choices.

The named candidate, who receives the most votes, still gets elected into office. But the counted “None” votes would make it quite clear that the elected candidate has no "mandate.” It would also mean the elected candidate has to cater more to the public than solely to his/her supporters.
