In Republiclan, “reform” is spelled either “remove” or “ruin”.

The only question that I have about using tax cuts to stimulate the economy for a couple of years is …. how are we going to do it next time GDP growth rate slows down?

Of course the Republicans figure that their tax plan is going to be a huge tax cut for the middle class. They all learned economics at Trump University.

I haven’t had to pay taxes since I retired…medical expenses, state tax deductions, mortgage interest deductions and no SSI COLAs have taken care of that. It will be interesting to see how much I’ll have left if the abandonment of these goes through.

The main fallacy of the Republican Tax plan is that it is predicated on economic growth in the capitalistic system. Capitalism is a pyramid scheme: it depends on an ever-increasing number of consumers. We’ve had this with the baby boomers who now are transitioning from consumer to retiree. I foresee a future where the millennials will not want to pay Social Security and Medicare and take away the benefits most of us have worked more than 50 years to earn.

We are not replacing our consumers by birth rate. The only way to get more consumers is to import them (immigration) but Trump’s closed the door on that.

I’ve doubled the size of my pantry in the garage and stocked it with canned goods with long shelf life. I have a sizable amount of cash tucked under my mattress. I’m thinking about getting a gun and a supply of ammunition to protect these assets.

This problem of what socio-economic paradigm comes next has been a topic of discussions in the WashPost “TheWorldPost” blog. I found it very interesting and informative.

Right now our best hope is that the House and Senate cannot manage to work out a deal. That relies on the Republicans splitting into factions so it is a bit of a case for prayer.

    Clear as mud.

Now that the 1% thieves have passed their tax scam do we get to read it to find out what they have done to the rest of America.
