So is this a good enough excuse to purge the wolves from society?

This is what happens when you let civilization die and allow the animals out of the zoo.People don’t eat people, people eat animals, animals eat animals, and Endtown is eating itself.

Now, the problem doesn’t stop with Heather. Someone’s still killing pigs and making it look like the wolves are doing it. This isn’t a solution, it’s the loss of a scapegoat.

Well, Jacob. You encouraged everybody to embrace their animal identities, to feel special pride in their species appearance. This is the result that you were pushing for, whether or not it was your intention.

will we ever see one of the other colonies? Or ARE there actually any other colonies, and the leaders haven’t told the citizens that?

The Security Rats are still down there, and they’re about start shooting, so the wolves’ seeming victory will be short-lived.

And right now, all over Endtown, every non-predator is grabbing weapons and every non-wolf predator is forced to decide if they want to side with the wolves or with the prey.

If the former, the lines are neatly drawn and it all comes down to how many prey they can kill and eat before the rats come in blasting (assuming they don’t already).

If the latter, they face the moral issue of convincing the terrified prey that they’re not going to do what the wolves did, and convince one another that even one slip will doom them all.

I love a good story as much as the next guy, and this is a very good story. But Endtown is becoming very hard to read these days. I might have to take a break for a few months and binge-read later, so I’m only depressed once rather than every other day for the foreseeable future.

This is what happens when you put labels on people. Everyone in Endtown was a human before the war. But there was pressure to label others by the species they turned into. Just like the real world, people act out upon the label others put on them.

The wolves probably hadn’t known that Walt had brought Heather upstairs. They know now, and from the ground it could look like Heather was thrown out. If the wolves think Heather was sacrificed to them by upstairs….

One good thing might come out of this though. The originator of this ordeal is finally coming to grips with what he has truly done. It’s too late for him to reverse it, but now he’s liable to use his power in ways he never would have before.

Two things need to happen. They need to find Wally, and a genuinely bloodied End Town needs to be presented with a clear alternative. That main problem here is no one knows what to think or how to behave and keep a lasting peace.

I think it’s time to strike out and find Wally, Holly, Flask and the others who can present/enforce that new agenda to what remains of End Town. When the bloodbath is done, it’s the only window they have to truely make a lasting impact. “When we reach our lowest point, we’re open to the greatest change.” Avatar Aang.

Sparky Malarky on Wordpress clarified that saying brilliantly. "When the worst thing that we can imagine happens to us and we are the most miserable we can be, we become desperate. At this point, we are willing to change. When we are the most desperate, we are willing to make the biggest changes. "

Give it a few months, and Endtown will be in that vital state. One thing remains… What to do? That can’t come from Endtown itself at this phase. Someone has to bring such knowledge to them. Then be prepared to preserve what life they can, and end what life they must. (The remaining few extremists who are so locked in, they would and will die sooner then change.)

So what’s next? I mean they no longer have a cause tor rally around. Will life go back to “normal”?

Well there is still the matter of the missing pigs (dead or alive)….

Throughout this story arc, there have been hints that the wolves have a real reason to feel they are being persecuted. Also, we have been shown that the real villains are not the wolves, but some shadowing group using Cooper to coerce Foxworthy into fomenting discontent. We still have very little idea what is really going on and who is doing what. So, I wouldn’t be too quick to jump on the bandwagon of “the predators are going to eat everyone else.” That’s too simplistic and Aaron doesn’t do simplistic.
