I didn’t learn to read until third grade because those “Dick and Jane walk down the street” books were sooo boring. Luckily, we then got a collection of short stories about children having real adventures and I instantly learned to love reading.
My dog would have thought Spot was showing off if the line read, “Fetch Spot, fetch.” The dog would chase a ball once or twice and then you could actually see the boredom in his eyes.
