My wife’s grandma had a somewhat worn mink coat, which was then converted to teddy bears for each of her granddaughters. The texture is very pettable, and I can see the attraction, though I wouldn’t support the mink industry by purchasing anything from recent decades.

These days some PETA member will spray it with paint.

The only minks I ever wanted to strangle were the ones that killed my hens. Even then the emotion was fleeting. Someone in the area had a mink farm at one point. Released them all to fend for themselves, and chickens were easy targets. Can’t blame them, just had to improve my coops, make them mink proof. and fox proof. and raccoon proof…. almost cheaper to hire a security guard.

So sick of PETA. Anyone assaulting a person and damaging their clothing should be arrested and forced to pay for the damages.

I remember when gangsta rappers and hip-hop moguls were wearing fur. I don’t recall anyone having the guts to confront them, let alone throw paint on their coats!

If one had ever met a mink, one would have far less sympathy.

Some of the new faux furs are lovely. I’d take one or two if I was gifted, but….they do not do a thing for the figure. Who wants to look like a big furry bear in them? Adds at least 20 pounds to your silhouette.

Better to get the coat while it’s still on the rack. An ounce or two of anything truly stinky and toxic (e.g. thiophene or diethyl sulfide) ought to do the trick.
