How many are addicted to their cell phone as a phone -- that you use to talk to others -- or as a mobile computing device which can access the Internet?
" …
The percentage of smartphone users who would actually be classified as addicted is estimated between 10-12%, according to the director of the Center for Internet and Technology Addiction, Dr. David Greenfield. However, in a survey of cell phone users, Dr. Greenfield found that around 90% of Americans fall in the category of overusing, misusing or abusing their devices. A recent study also found that 50% of teens feel that they are addicted to their devices.
Aww, it’s just a confirmation study of James Olds and Peter Milner’s work.
In the 1950s, the psychologists James Olds and Peter Milner modified the chamber so that a lever press would deliver direct brain stimulation through deep implanted electrodes. What resulted was perhaps the most dramatic experiment in the history of behavioral neuroscience: Rats would press the lever as many as 7,000 times per hour to stimulate their brains. This was a pleasure center, a reward circuit, the activation of which was much more powerful than any natural stimulus.
I like the Darwin Awards. I like the theory. That people should eliminate themselves before they contribute to the gene pool. If you are so stupid that you do something dumbass to eliminate yourself from the gene pool before you have children. I think it’s good. It’s a self eliminating triage. It’s good for the human race.
I really appreciate the older person, who is assisting not just the distracted pedestrian, but the driver whose car might be walked into or rear ended when said driver suddenly braked when seeing some one step into his car’s path.
If you are on your phone in the middle of the crosswalk, cars are legally obligated not to hit you. That will be little comfort from the hospital bed, but there it is.

Let Darwinism play out — if you aren’t smart enough to watch where you are going you aren’t fit enough to stay alive.
