Take a deep breath, Woman, and don’t break that rattle. Unsolicited advice and babies are inseparable.

And cats and babies can get along perfectly well once the cat recognizes the baby is a human kitten. This one is a boy baby, so Elvis is indifferent (he only guards females) but he isn’t going to harm it.

Don’t let Cruella de Ville near the baby… or me!

I love Georgia’s sarcasm, “More unsolicited advice? I’m gonna get spoiled!” Ha! This is one of my favourite arcs because no matter how many times I read it, I can help but burst out laughing, especially at the cats’ fantastic sarcasm and wit.

yes, don’t let that old crow near the baby – a dozen cats would be much better!

Must be one of those CPS busybodies who think they are the Queen and give orders, not advice.

I’d trust a baby with a cat more than a crabby old know-it-all.You clench that rattle Woman. Clench it for everyone who has ever had to sit through unsolicited advice sessions.

Always listen to advice from experienced mothers.

You don’t have to take it, but you should listen.

Stay tuned- the stranger will tell Georgia that the cats will harm the baby. Lupin, Puck, and Elvis love the baby, esp. Elvis.

Drop her from the “friends” list. Or any list, for that matter. Nobody says you HAVE to see relatives. Not even mothers in law. Have not seen mine in 34 years. After the first year of snide and snotty comments I was D-O-N-E.

I LOVE the Woman’s expression and action in the final panel! Poor lady’s probably gotten FAR too much advice already before the cats came up.

My parents were worried about how the two Cats In Residence would respond to the Brand New Baby. I was placed on a chair, given a thorough sniffover, and dismissed with a resounding “Meh.” Last I checked, I survived the experience. Same with my younger brother.

WendyCat climbed into my daughter’s bassinet when we brought her home from the hospital and slept with her until she graduated to a crib. She’s 51 now, so…………just sayin’

Too bad she isn’t warning Woman not to let the cats get too close or they may take over the baby. It may be that she would have to make an appointment to see her own baby. ;-)

I grew up with cats, and it had absolutely no adverse effects on me. Now excuse me while I go to the litterbox.

No lie, my inability to endure dumb unsolicited advice and sanctimonious lectures is on my top ten list of “why I don’t have kids.”

For years my older sister blamed every complaint I had on my cats. I didn’t get the cats until after I finished college, but if I had a cold, or sneezed I was allergic to cats. Finally she got one of her own and the problem went away. Not as bad as my Mom of course. My cats were the reason I was unemployed. They needed to be gotten rid of because I was wasting time on them.

Cats can be surprisingly good with children. I heard of one who encouraged the baby to crawl by sitting a little distance away, switching her tail. The baby would belly-crawl toward the cat and just before he could grab the tail Kitty would move away, sit down and begin the tail-waving lure again. “This strange creature is obviously a human kitten. It’s up to me to see that he is properly trained!”
