They talk about the aging world population, but they never mention that children are now luxury goods for many.

The question you should be asking yourself is, “Do I feel lucky?”

To answer Gan Sharma’s question – not if he gets the “gift” in increments of less than $14,000 per year.

@ leading edge re:$233k………I don’t believe that number. Without researching the source, most likely it includes a percentage of home costs (principal, interest, insurance, taxes ETC) for 18 years. All of that, will be paid anyway even if one chooses not to have children. Doing the math……$233k for 18 years is almost $13k per year or over $1k per month. It just doesn’t pass the “smell test”!

Definitely a loan. And the next generation gets payment and refinances it.

Marriage is a combination of benefits and responsibilities.

If the benefits last beyond age 40, you’ll be very lucky.

Responsibilities, however, go beyond death, as any life insurance salesman will explain!!

Don’t get me wrong, I like kids but just don’t wish to have any of my own.

    I’m a career girl.

Thank you for having a comic strip in which you have a smart kid with smart parents. I still remember the numerous comics and TV sitcoms which had smart kids with totally dense and stupid parents. I never felt entertained by them.
