    In middle school, my art teacher afforded anyone who needed extra credit the option of designing and drawing a machine that would get you out of bed, dress you, brush your teeth, and make your breakfast. The only restriction was that it could not look like a mother. This strip reminds me of that, and also makes me realize that she didn’t preclude it looking like a father.
