Obviously a really old strip. Now, being a Republican either means that you are rich and don’t care about anyone but yourself, or you are stupid enough to vote against your own self interest.
Plenty of moms and dads are Democrats. Also, plenty of Republicans have chosen to not become parents. Some of those Republicans have terminated pregnancies as well as used birth control contraception. We all know some people who have terminated pregnancies regardless of their political stripe. Just because they don’t talk about it doesn’t mean that they have not chosen to terminate a pregnancy. The largest group of religious women who have terminated a pregnancy in the US are self-identified as Roman Catholic women. Abortion is a personal healthcare choice. If they do choose to terminate a pregnancy, you can bet that they won’t be making sure that they tell someone that they know does not approve, as is their right. I sincerely hope that someday we will all have access to quality reproductive healthcare which will make abortion unnecessary. Another future hope is that men can have access to contraception other than just using a condom, which is not as effective as some other means.
@Galeebie: To be honest, I am getting a little tired of hearing the mantra that there is no difference between the GOP and Democrats. It is how we ended up where we are.
