You start out as an apprentice, and they give you all the scut work and the occasional bout of hazing, then they let you take on the minimally meaningful work (like the war on Christmas), and only after you’ve proved yourself worthy will they give you responsibility for major wars, like opening the doors of the mall on Black Friday.
