General Mattis is a well respected man amongst his former Marines, and the general staff. This is not an easy thing to accomplish.-The story is that he ticked off many in the current administration for questioning their forethought in dealing with Iran and how effective their sanctions would be. He is (was) a general. Well-versed in history, especially in the Middle East. His job was to know his enemy, a job he took seriously and understood more than most.-Now, I am partial as a former Marine, but I think that this may be a wise choice. I want a person (male or female) that knows the DOD, problems, what’s needed, what’s not, what’s fluff and bluster, and what is the straight dope. I don’t want some PC freak that does not know what is going on. On that front, at least, I suspect that General Mattis is an excellent choice.
This is not how Iran is going to react. The Republicans have always wanted war with Iran and will pick up where they left off 8 years ago trying to get their wish.
i’m sure the hard right in iran are thrilled at the prospect.
you stupid faux-masculinists think you can just wave your dicks around and scare people. they aren’t as impressive as you think and they don’t solve anything, they just piss on everything.
Mattis has expressed support for the Iran treaty. He’s an old-school Reaganesque pragmatist who understands a great deal about how international relations work..Man, is he gonna be lonely in that cabinet of amateurs and screwballs.

The CIA is begging Trump not to wreck the Iran deal. Don’t they know that flattery is what works on him?

Right wing?
Trump isn’t right wing.
He isn’t consistent enough to pick a side.
He doesn’t even favor his own self-interests.
