The Arctic melts into the seas

while profits are sought by {industries} in-dus-trees

which continue extraction sprees

which bring Mother Earth to her knees.

We’ve one of those {economies} e-con-o-mees

which proceeds with stupid {stupidities} stu-pid-i-tees

in which money-seekers foul Everyman’s nest.

“Let’s REGULATE!!”, we Progressives protest.

Yep! The Murray/Peabody etc. coal companies are just chompin’ at the bit to start mining more, with fewer regs, and more deaths.And the poor folks in Appalachia will go along because “it’s the way it’s always been/it’s all we know.”My Dad and Mom knew the Depression, so we should still do that?

Looking around, I see shrubs fooled into putting out flowers just before the day we got a foot of snow, and birds who look like they might be shopping for nest sites. All is well! ALL IS WELLLLLL!

The planet will survive, wildlife will thrive. It’s only the lowly people whose exploitation will destroy themselves. Reap what ye sow.

So much for intelligence being an evolutionary benefit.

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest. Facts are facts, made up facts are not facts. In the end reality is still reality no matter how much you want it to not be reality. Keep watching Fox and listening to right wingnut radio and getting your information from web pages that tell you what your want to hear. Just keep your head buried in your shag carpet, but be sure to protect your butt to keep reality from biting your ass.

The reality is that the planet is warming up and we humans are responsible for that. The consequences are very serious to us, but the planet could give a flying damn what we do to it. Keep voting Republican to ensure we completely destroy our ability to live on our planet.

Our planet can sustain a human population that lives like the west of no more than 2 billion. Don’t worry about over breeding though because those antibiotics that made it possible to over populate are starting to fail big time.

Don’t worry we voted on it so there is no more global warming. Trump is in office and he fixed it. If the climate does get warmer it is because Trump wanted it and made it happen. All hail daddy Trump he makes everything biggly greater.

It would be great if the vast majority of climate scientiste were somehow mistaken and what looks like just being contrary turned out to be prudent, but that seems very risky and does not appeal to my conservative (small ‘c’) side. Just in case, AGW is real, it certainly would be more conservative (small ‘c’) to look into prevention.

None of this elaborate conspiracy theory was true, as the New York Times noted:
