“Stanfurd Uneeversity” !?
heey, stephan, you mispelled Uneeversity.
railwayman001 over 7 years ago
Really, Stephan? I have a strange feeling that this strip may be politically motivated, considering how you went to California at Berkeley and Stanford is conservative-leaning.

Another qualified presidential candidate appears.

I think Zebra needs to learn the word “alumnus”. “Alumni” is plural.
Proginoskes over 7 years ago
@ rumball. No; he says that he got a degree. He’s too intellectual for the “Alt-Right”.
dadoctah over 7 years ago
If he was an English major, he would have said “Me an aluminium”.

Gotcha there, Zeeba!
rwjames over 7 years ago
Also, if he were an English major, he would likely know ‘alumnus’ is Latin.

Croc Power ! Thought he went to “What’s A Matter U”……..Zebra neighbor must remember Crocs speak Croc not English :-)
John Falstaff over 7 years ago
Stanfurd? I would have guessed Larry was a fellow graduate of an SEC school. :-)
Ginger Retiree over 7 years ago
Like I’ve always said, just because you went to college doesn’t mean you’re smart.
Kaputnik over 7 years ago
Actually, maybe “Stanfurd” graduates are aluminums. Aluminumi? Illuminati? It’s a giant croc conspiracy.
Anyway, if he’s an aluminum, does that mean his favorite music is light metal?
whiteheron over 7 years ago
But Larry ate the sheepskin.
Kaputnik over 7 years ago
He was studying math, but he ate π.
hariseldon59 over 7 years ago
If that’s Larry, then he’s definitely lying. We know that he took all the money his dad gave him for tuition at Stanford and used it to buy beer.http://www.gocomics.com/pearlsbeforeswine/2012/09/07

Whenever I see a bumper sticker saying X-University Alumni, I laugh a bit. Maybe there are alumni of that college in the car, but more likely it meant “alumnus” or “alumna”. When advertising one’s education, one wants to be smarter than the zebra here.

Croc is really showing his mettle here. When another croc dies from some idiotic scheme, does he barium?C’mon, 38 of you and nobody thought of that?

Pastis is a Cal-Berkeley grad, so naturally he would make the dumbest character in the strip a Stanford aluminum.

He’s telling you lies, Zebra. He actually graduated from the University of Duh.

@DaDoctah: you mean “if he were an English major,” or, “if he had been an English major.” You would only say “if I/he/she was” when referring to a specific moment in time. Otherwise, you use the subjunctive. (Guess what my major was?)
rowena28 Premium Member over 7 years ago
Even more convincing if he knew the word “alumnus”.

As I always say, all I know about math is that 2 + 2 = 22. What more do you need in life?
