And that’s about as “practical” as solar power EVER gets, too!

With all the overweight Americans, who needs any other source of energy. Get on your generators and lose that flab. And leave that gas guzzler home, the store is only two miles away fatty Unplug that electric eating TV and play ball with the kids. No kilowatts used reading a book in the day. Is that an electric can opener? Are you that out of shape you need an outside source of energy to do what you granny did all her life. Don’t tell me your defrosting dinner in the microwave. Forgot or stupid?

I wonder what conserve in conserative means?.

Lewreader, I agree. But aren’t you then being unpatriotic? Isn’t it our patriotic obligation to buy all that stuff to make the economy run? What a conundrum!

Somebody’s using an awful lot of electricity on his computer complaining about everybody else’s energy consumption.

lew, you are right, but reading a book is better than reading a video game. Video Games get you out of shape physically and mentally, books are good for your brain.

@Lewreader, those 1950’s type “conservatives” are getting scarce. Today it’s about Constitutional limits on Federal power. I sold my car 6 years ago and ride a bike to and from work (bus in bad weather). Today’s conservatives think Global Warming is a scam, BUT they want to stop using foreign oil because of the security problem. Some want to “drill baby drill”, but most want to switch to Natural Gas (much safer and easier to obtain on our continent, and we have lots of it) or Nuclear.

Nuclear would also satisfy the GW believers, but after the BP/regulatory (regulators were bribed long before BP not to check) screwup, you wonder about a similar screwup with a nuke plant (which would otherwise be quite safe if done right). So I favor Natural Gas.

For real added energy, eat beans…then all you’ll need is a skateboard to get you from Seattle to Chicago in 90 minutes flat.

Though millions of homes are now heated, powered and lit at night by solar this is the only way Republicans would consider it ‘practical’. It’s just not practical anymore to keep Republicans around!

STUART I gave up driving 7 years ago for ecological reasons. I have been in two private vehicles in the time since. Walking, bike riding , and public transport are inconvenient and time consuming but what would I do with the time I lost? Waste energy watching TV? I’ve already chopped my season’s firewood. Terrible use of a renewable energy source, requires you get dirty and get exercise

..RCMINOR What have you done to conserve today.? Drove to a liberal rally? Walking is good for the bleeding heart.
