Not sure I get the water under the door thingy part…..

As for opening the door and letting the water out, it won’t happen. You open the door, go upstairs and fall into the water. Apparently they’ve already had someone, as water splashed onto the staircase, ran down it and out the door.

Those that cannot comprehend what they read (all they can eat, not all you can eat) get thinned from the herd. If it were true a good chunk of the present day populace would be gone. Instead, they are still here, murdering grammar.

Kis, We can hope.

In terms of reading, comprehension, and the ability to express a coherent thought, the responses to cartoons are far more thoughtful and intelligent than the comments following most “news” stories.

coot31 - If I’m not mistaken, there should be a comma (I almost typed “coma”) after the word “thought” to allow that phrase to be a kind of introduction although more and more, commas are being eliminated. Even my husband the English professor eschews them when possible.

Don’t worry. In real life I’m not such a noodge. Only in comic world (or when I’m reading a poorly edited novel.)

@Barbaratoo & coot31 - Coot31 did have a comma following “thought”, it is just hard to see as he used a comma chameleon by mistake.

I agee wholeheartedly with coot31, the comments on this site are better written and more coherent than the comments on many news sites.

Barbaratoo: Thank you! I fixed it. I had held a fifteen second internal debate before making the original post and decided it could go either way.

I first saw this cartoon in black and white in my morning newspaper (yes, people still read newspapers). I thought the trickle coming from under the door was blood.

I need this restaurant in my neighbourhood. In my riding for our civic election I have the choice between a convicted theif (stole money from a charity for which he was chairman ), or a loud-mouthed idiot. There are other candidates, however, their grammatical errors and poor spelling on each of their flyers was so atrocious I threw them in the re-cycling bin before reading.
