MARK TRAIL: @ woodworker – I checked on Google, and Hawaii is in the Polynesia region of the South Pacific (along with Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, etc.). The Melanesia region has the Republic of Fiji, and other islands, and Guam & Palau are in the Micronesia region (of the South Pacific). Shades of Mary Martin & Ezio Pinza and Bali Hai! I’m betting that wrecked boat, the Elizabeth D., was the source of the invasive fire ants.
Sorry guys, but Florchi’s right. Hawaii is in the South Pacific. It is measured by climate rather than longitude. It is in the Tropic Zone, close to the equator.
Mark Trail If the wrecked ship the Elizabeth Dean is the one that belonged to Honey & Darling, then it cannot be the source of the fire ants since Darling was bitten by one already on the island.
Phantom – By coincidence, I just started reading “The Blessing Way”, the first book in Tony Hillerman’s series of Navajo mysteries, and it describes a wolfman very much like this one. It probably is one of the men he met on his way. Kit is being tested very early on.Crankshaft – The county fair must have thought it appropriate to play “It’s a Small World” in the pixie goat exhibit.Judge Parker – Visibility is low, but maybe he’ll smell the vodka.

I have to agree with you David. if it’s above the Equator, it’s in the North Pacific. I don’t care what island grouping it’s in.
