This isn’t the attitude of most gay people I know. We won’t put up with bigots anymore, but we’ll handle it peacefully and lawfully—not with assault rifles. This cartoon is so off base as to be ridiculous. And, BTW, most folks in the LGBTQ community are more afraid of the actions of “real Christians” who preach love but hate them down deep because their bible says it’s OK to do so, than they are of “radical Islam”.Steve Benson….you don’t speak for US!
“If President Obama is the worlds leading Nobel Peace Prize holder, why does he bomb and murder and invade?”Hey, troll…What’s that comment got to do with the toon ??
How many more people would have died if the club had been filled up with “good guys with guns” everyone open fire, and hope the bad-guy gets hit. Instead of everyone getting an assault rifle, can we talk about sensible gun laws yet?
Narrowminded missed the Baptist preacher screaming out that all homosexuals should be rounded up by the government and killed. Good Christians are just as bad as good Muslims, who like ISIL, totally ignore the real tenets of the religions.
I am quite gay, and I own guns. I own a Remington Model 700 bolt action .30-06 with which I have harvested many deer, a Remington 12 gauge semi automatic with which I have harvested many game birds (and also which I would gladly trade for a pump action because I don’t care for the semi automatic), and a cheap Lakefield bolt action .22 with which I have harvested many rabbits and wasted thousands of bullets just playing around at the rifle range. I have never felt any need to own a handgun or an assault rifle (handguns generally suck for hunting because of their poor range and accuracy when compared to a hunting rifle, and I don’t need a 50-shot magazine for hunting deer). As a long time gun owner I can honestly say that I don’t see why the NRA feels that people need assault rifles, and will never understand why people believe they need them.
The argument “If just one person would have had a gun” is completely and utterly garbage. A person on scene DID have a gun, and not only that, but that person was also well trained on how to use it (he was an off duty police officer). That person with a gun could not prevent a nutcase with an assault rifle from killing a bunch of people. If he could have prevented it, he would have.
The only valid argument I’ve heard from NRA supporters is that criminals don’t care whether their guns are legal. What those NRA supporters don’t point out, though, is that the reason those assault weapons are so readily available to criminals is that the NRA made them readily accessible to everyone. Nobody could break into your house and steal your collection of AR-15’s to use for crime if you didn’t have those AR-15’s for them to steal. Nobody could steal the assault weapons from under the seat of your F-150 if you didn’t have assault weapons under the seat of your F-150. There is a reason that USA has the highest gun crime rate in the world, and that reason is that guns are so readily available. And because they are so readily available they are also very cheap on the black market. Mass shootings would not be quite so frequent if the murderers had to work to find a weapon and then pay a fortune for it. There is a reason why USA has more mass shootings than anywhere in the world, and that reason is that the guns to commit those mass shootings with are so available. If the guns weren’t there, they could not be used. Unfortunately the guns ARE there, and thanks to the NRA they’re not going away. The NRA has blood on its hands with every one of these shootings.
This is not my post, this was sent to me by a friend. (retired military)“An inanimate object can not suddenly spring to life and kill someone. A person must cause that to happen.” True, a gun or rifle is a tool, but how much tool is necessary? “A gun can save your life: When attacked by a person that has intentions of killing you, you can save your own life by using a gun.”But I have saved my own life by talking them out of it or using my hands, in the case of someone accosting me with a gun, Most people would be dead before they could even try responding by drawing a weapon. Watch the videos of people at traffic stops who fire on officers, usually a lot of lead flying and no one shot.
If, Frankenfreakenstein, as you claim, “the media is the secret ingredient in America’s gun violence,” how do you know that if it’s a secret?.

“If we lose the Second Amendment your livelihood is threatened, because the First is next. "Dag, you’ve got that backwards. Trump wanted to get rid of freedom of religion and freedom of the press for a while, but he only recently proposed restricting gun sales. The first amendment is coming before the second amendment.

You’re finally learnin.’ But your still making yuuuuuuuuuuge mistakes. Hang in there. Rigid conservatism is a mental disorder that requires time to fix.
The U.S. Congress makes no laws that upset the gun lobby because both parties are owned by the gun lobby through campaign contribution dependency, plus because of followed-through-on-threats by the NRA to “score” their votes (a veiled warning to oust them if they fail to obey the NRA way)..
Did you ever take any classes in American civics? I was a poli sci major, cum laude.

You could use a a good shot of reality rather than being a drive-by tourist who shallow-dives when it comes to learning how the American political system actually works. .
One of my good friends in Washington was a lobbyist for the NRA.
Now, below are two prime examples of how the Congress “stands up” to the NRA:
.
It allows those on the terror watch list to buy guns.
.
It protects gun manufacturers from product liability lawsuits..
There are many different orders in which the emblematic gay colors are presented, not all of them following the flag format. Take a look at Google images to see proof of that as the designs appear on variety of web pages. .The colors themselves—not the order of line up—is what is important. Besides, the colors show up on a rifle in the cartoon, not on a flag. ..i am not aware of any rule book that dictates in what order the gay colors must be placed when putting them on an assault weapon in a cartoon format.
“What does that prove? Not a damn thing. There is as yet nothing to connect this guy to anything, not even Internet radicalization.”
Which brings up the concept that perhaps you don’t need to defend yourself from groups, but sometimes from individuals. You don’t usually care what someone’s politics are if he is trying to kill you or those you love, and telling him it is not nice to gun people down may not be effective.
