REX MORGAN: Now that ever ones been introduced, how long will it take to get down to business?
MARK TRAIL: For all the water going over the fall, it wasn’t too deep at the bottom and it couldn’t have been too high. Gabe didn’t look like he fell too far. Not as far as Mark did.
MARY WORTH: Now we start a new life developing new friends.
REX MORGAN: The story about comic books under the floorboards continues…CRANKSHAFT: The vision of the young Jeff disappears, and the middle-age Jeff retrieves comics he hid under the floorboards…FUNKY W: The elderly Jeff uses his Starbuck Jones decoder ring to begin to decode the newspaper notice…MARY WORTH: Will Mary soon have a drink of (coffee, tea, or lemonade) with (Toby or Jeff) to signal the end of this story?PHANTOM: Back to the Skull Cave! I got lost from time to time in the most recent story (nothing to do with the drawing). I guess it was not my favorite tale…are we on to a new adventure? Thanks, M. Manley, for keeping this strip going without missing a beat.
PHANTOM: I agree with Woodworker that the new artist is noticeable especially in the Phantom’s face. Like Florchi, I did not like the previous story.REX/CRANK/FUNKY: I thought all 3 strips were going to intersect but Rex meets with Hank and Florchi remnds us that its Jeff retrieving his old comics from the floorboards in FW and Crankshaft….MARY: I don’t think we’re close to the end yet, there may be a “twist” coming…maybe Harlan becoming jealous of Dawn’s tme spent with girl friends and his crossing that “professional line” that we’ve been leery of?JP: as is common with this strip, there are several stories going on at one time. The classic black and white strip however, follows just one storyline.
MANDRAKE: Back in mid-to-late March (our time), Mandrake was suctioned into another dimension by an inflatable jolly-looking guy called a “kefax” (sp. ?). This other dimension had aliens that looked like huge praying mantises and M. escaped from the alien dimension on or about April 5 (again, our time). And, then, more recently M. and Narda saw the giant egg aliens in their own back yard. So we know that Mandrake will be ready to believe Mrs. Clem’s “crazy” story.
CRANKY/FUNKY: When Funky did its time jump, it was only 10 years into the future. So why does Jeff go from young middle age to elderly so fast?REX: Now that I think about it, wasn’t Buck the curly haired guy whose wife abused him? What happened to his curly hair?
Phantom – Today, I did notice the change in artist, and I don’t like his face as well. The costume makes it easy to overlook details.Mary Worth – I agree this story isn’t over.Judge Parker – Several story lines, but doing nothing with the one with the most interesting possibilities (April).

@Jan: Maybe it’s the new artist who is drawing Buck and like the artist(s) in “Mary Worth,” he doesn’t know how to draw curly hair.
