PHANTOM: I’m surprised the wall didn’t get knocked down seeing as it is only made of cement blocks. I wonder how many people the explosion will wake up? This will let Rex and Laura a chance to slip into the city unnoticed.
MARY WORTH: @ david – I agree with what Mary is saying in panel 2. However, more discretion may be in order until Dawn is no longer Harlan’s student. I guess what I would advise is don’t end it, but “cool it” until the term ends.CALVIN & HOBBES: @ Arye – Calvin gets it right about what is really important about a friend (and it’s not their physical appearance). REX MORGAN, panel 3: An interesting juxtaposition with the Calvin & Hobbes story. PHANTOM: @ woodworker – I like your comments. All I can add is that I think the artist, the late Paul Ryan, drew a very well-done portrayal of the the 3 sequential seconds (of the blast).
Phantom – @woodworker, Yes, a little unrealistic.Mark Trail – Very unrealistic that they can live through this. Wonder what Gabe is doing. Maybe he can show he isn’t just a handicap.Mary Worth – Mary’s advice might be good in some situations. But she’d not getting the whole picture. She doesn’t know how Dawn has cut off the friends she did have.Rex Morgan – I bet they won’t be able to get rid of Teddy, or much else. They might change their minds again about moving.
CRANKSHAFT: Jeff’s comment in panel 2 – I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I am beginning to wonder what inspired T. Batiuk to write this story…FUNKY W: Interesting, but I wonder if the “ten times” is accurate (I think it may be more than “ten times”).
A couple of predictions:Mark Trail Mark will sink that pick into the nearby rock at the last second and save them.Phantom No body will be found, and Dumat will live to appear in another story arc.

PHANTOM: Just like I thought, Dumat blowing up the car. That’s how they get rid of him without having to kill him.
REX MORGAN: I hope we don’t go through all those boxes.
MARK TRAIL: Mark tells her to hang on but he’s got her by the wrist. She can’t hang onto anything.
