Tip O’Neill (Thomas Philip O’Neill Jr) was a representative from Massachusetts who was speaker of the house.Baby Doc (Jean Claude Duvalier) was president of Haiti from 1971 until his overthrow in 1986.

Tip was more than able to work with Reagan, and others, one of the good guys. Baby Doc was just a splinter off the old voodoo needle.

i could never forget either Tip O’Neill or Baby Doc Duvalier. Tip O’Neill Speaker of the House. He was said to work well with Prez Reagan. Chris Matthews and others still speak fondly of him today. Baby Doc Duvalier succeeded his father papa Doc Duvalier in Haiti as dictator there. Baby Doc was said to have made millions in Haiti from drug trade and selling body parts from dead Haitians. Haiti is an extremely poor country. He was exiled to France. He died in 2014. I had not thought about Baby Doc for a long time, could have done without the memory.

Many of us have been following the career of Garry Trudeau for as long as we can remember. If you like GT, you tend to also like current events.

We were hoping the president was taking an early retirement.

In more current news today, it should be interesting to see how many protesters show up at AIPAC when Drumpf goes onstage. The protesters are taking over the Drumpf news cycle it seems. The American Israel Public Affairs Conference will hear from most of the candidates today in Washington D.C. Drumpf has made many contradictory and meandering comments regarding foreign policy. Of course, the other GOP candidates aren’t much better, just without the bluster. Hillary was already heard from this morning, the rest are tonight. We have heard that many protesters plan to silently walk out when Drumpf takes the stage today.

I think we overplay the idea that one has to have lived through an event in order to have knowledge of it. I wasn’t alive during the French Revolution, but I know that it happened. We live in the information age, after all. It certainly isn’t all that hard to find out these things.

It’s not surprising that Tip O’Neill worked with Reagan. For the younger generation here, Reagan actually worked with Tip O’Neill!

Speaking of people being too young to remember….Today’s historic events in Cuba have one man squirming in his chair and another rolling in his grave – recognize these guys ?

*Hint: The guy putting is still alive. The one on the left, not-so-much !

@montessoriteacher Silently walking off would be a YUUUUUGE improvement over their comportment at previous protests; classy, even.

Are you sure it’s the same group?

Extra points to anyone who posts Tip O’Neil quotes other than his, “All politics is local.”
