I (a Whippersnapper) worked with an old fellow (a Plugger) many years ago who had 2 Volkswagen Beetles. He painted them (with a roller, mind you) black and red, and yellow and green. I told him they looked like amusement park rides.

Brooking missed on this one. All the hand painted junkmobiles I see in the Poconos are camo.

Those trucks aren’t different colors because of paint, they are different colors because the hood, fenders, etc. all came from the pick-a-part places and were never repainted.

People keep asking me what color I’m going to eventually paint my 1971. In my eyes, it’s done!

Oohhh….painting a vehicle with a brush..the kiss of death. Mind you, some get so bad that almost anything is an improvement.

Paint half of the vehicle one color….the other half another color….if you’re ever in a wreck…hit and run….listen to the witnesses contradict each other.

As a new plugger, this reminds me of the Manny Hanny any car. Manufacture’s Hanover Trust Bank in New York City had a commercial showing a car in many different colors and parts saying that they would give an auto loan to any car. Sorry to say, that the bank doesn’t exist any more.

Of course, the real reason a plugger’s truck is multi-colored is because over several crashes a variety of different body parts are used to get it on the road again…
