Yeah, I get it. Blogger = typical internet “loser” who stays up all night in their parent’s basement. Very subtle.

Hey! I didn’t start working on my blog post until 5:30! I resent this strip. (said with a rueful smile on my face)

the only footnote to this could be someone who actually is life-less enough to need to read a blog….heh.

Time spent blogging about what you’re doing is time not spent doing it. Stability is achieved when you spend all of your time blogging about the nothing that you’re doing.

hmmmmmm… We’re all reading/writing comments about a comic strip (albeit the ultimate enlightened and intelligent comic strip) so I guess we are just FAR superior to bloggers. Wow, I feel special now.

See today’s “Cornered” for the outcome.

Enjoyed the comments by Sisyphos and Somebodyshort (2nd and 3rd respectively). Even more humorous coming one after the other.

Of course we know it’s the perspective of differing time zones that makes the early posting look like late-night geeks with no life. When I was vacationing on the (US) west coast, it was a pleasant surprise finding I could end my day with tomorrow’s GoComics. (Wait: Vacation + internet comics at midnight. Who needs a life?!)

In reference to the cartoon, not the forgoing comments… Suspicions confirmed!

I love the stairs going up to nowhere.

I know of stairs goig up to a blank wall and met a man who worked construction on that job. He said the stairs were built because the blueprints showed them there.

Most bloggers are rather secretive and shy, so…..

Sorry, but as lucrative as it might be for those that experience success, cartooning is no real step above the blogosphere.

Not to disparage cartooning, obviously. I like to read them.

Vaca almost over, Mr. Wiley??? I’m really really in Danae withdrawals…… not that the past couple of weeks haven’t been enjoyable, but….

For a guy who draws funny pictures for a living, Mr. Miller is surprisingly snarky when it comes to folks trying to find ways to make a go on the Internet.

This isn’t the first time the ‘Professional Cartoonist’ has ridiculed other creative types. It’s sad, really.

“Professional Cartoonists” are writers as well as, in Wiley’s case, superb artists. Even those with less than superb drawing skills have to have a compelling story…every day! Bloggers make up stuff too. But they call it news.

Bloggers are seeking to be “real” journalists, gathering support and recognition in order to make the “big time.” With that in mind, the sign reminds me of author signing events at chain book stores. “Come and meet the author!!!!!!!!!!” (please…)

The Sheik has got something there, too, I think…

I’m toooo old to be a blogger. Hate basements for one thing. For another, was taught to keep private stuff private, so have real trouble sharing what’s really going on.

I’m not disparaging Mr. Miller’s talent.

I am pointing out his tendency to sound like the old guy screaming, ‘You dang kids get off my lawn!!’ when he comments on Internet-related media.

Sure, the average blogger lacks talent, but ignoring the best of the field by lumping them all together for a few cheap laughs would be like taking potshots at all cartoonists because the average ones are challenged both artistically and creatively.

An awesome artist should above cheap shots, else they aren’t really ‘awesome’.

Who says it’s the artist’s voice (mocking bloggers)? Comedians do it all the time - they do a skit or bit in the tone of someone other than their own and we think it’s funny. Why can’t cartoonists use that same technique?

Hey! I resemble – I mean resent – that remark!

You know what, that isn’t too bad, now that you mention it, Wiley…I didn’t quite get that sentiment first time around…though there is a touch of snark, as yumi mentioned, relating to the time and locale of the “event”.

Wish I’d had a basement when I was growing up. :o(
