I was with some friends years ago. We ate in a nice restaurant in Dallas and when we went to check out, we discovered that they didn’t take credit cards. They allowed one of the girls to leave to go to her bank, halfway across Dallas, to the ATM. Most banks didn’t have ATMs and even then you could only do a transaction at your bank. Come to think of it, I don’t think they were called ATMs then.
