My Great Dane/Shepherd mix used to wag his tail so hard that it bled a bit if he was near a wall. The vet called it the ‘happy tail’ syndrome! He was that happy to have company!
This reminds me of a “Calvin and Hobbes” episode. Hobbes wears himself out chasing his tail, and is lying on the floor, panting. Calvin does a careful inspection, and then tells him, “No, it’s still stuck tightly to your butt!”

LOL! I’ve watched my shih tzu do that. She chases it around and around then grabs a mouth full of hair to chew on. Crazy dog.
