I think the registering of all guns is not required. Gun owners would object to that because the government would then know who owns what. It should be more like a driver’s license. A potential gun owner would have to take a test or training to demonstrate they could safely handle a gun and have enough legal knowledge to know the legal requirements of self defense and handling a weapon. There could be different levels, one for the average hunter/target shooter and a more difficult level for those who wanted to carry. The license would then be required for all gun sales and background checks would be required for all sales. That would work and the actual ownership of a weapon would still be private. A background check would be required to obtain the license and it would be renewed periodically just like a driver’s license. Stiff penalties for possession with out the license would encourage compliance. The inconvenience factor and the education required would deter those who just want to impulse buy because guns are cool thereby reducing the massive number of guns in circulation today.
Don’t you love it? Liberals lecture America on having too many Americans behind bars, more per capita than even China. And there’s a point to that-too many people locked up for non-violent small-ticket offences. But in the next breath, lefties demand we put ‘em in the slammer and throw away the key for stuff like unregistered guns(even antique pistols!), being a “climate change denier”(U. of Wisconsin professors demanded that), threatening a burglar with a gun, and even(saw it on MSNBC) using the “wrong” pronoun to refer to gender dysphoric/transgenders.(That’s correct-calling him a him or even “Bruce” should get you arrested according to an MSNBC guest.)And let’s not even get started about Kim Davis, whose incarceration was all the more reprehensible as Judge Bunning knew when he handed it down that it was symbolic, political, futile, temporary and pointless.Law enforcement should be as traffic enforcement should be: To protect the public safety, not to fulfil quotas or a political agenda or rake in more money for the government. When Obama’s gone, maybe we can start moving back in the right direction.
And when President Obama DOES do anything, the “Preserve my blood soaked gun rights” conservatives yell and scream that he’s exceeding his authority.Especially when he does exactly the same thing that exPresident Bush did.
Your comment makes no sense. So all teachers and principals should be strapped and that’s going to stop the violence? I love how more guns is the answer.
The real problem is conservatives ignoring that the founding fathers would have found “super power” being “empire” as anathema.
We too often use a cry for help, as an excuse to silence those who want help, from us. (Whether international military actions driven by the MIC, or more locally the NRA.)
Ask any gun grabber which new law would prevent the most recent killing they are exploiting. The answer is typically: “Well, maybe it wouldn’t have prevented this one, but we have to do something.” That’s about as deep as their “thinking” goes. Libs aren’t about thinking, just feeling.
Teach gun safety in all high schools(and/or middle schools), show them how to dress a kill, once they know what a gun can do and how to use it, all the mystery is gone and they won’t want to even touch one.

You need that gun in the house for when your neighbor’s darn kid won’t show your son her new puppy.

The problem with ISIS is not all of those beheadings, it’s their knives.

Everyone with armed bodyguards supports disarming everyone else.
