Aye, and for a creature that supposedly never forgets. More like Einstein’s Elephant, perhaps. “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” But then I often think they’re way into pushing that button. “Come on baby make it hurt so good!”

Much like their fallacy of “trickle down economics”.

That’s what happens when your motivated by ideology rather than taking a pragmatic approach to solving the countries real problems. I read an article that most of the infrastructure providing water and sewer across the country is nearly a century old and on the verge of needing replacement at a huge cost. Failure to do this will make many of these places uninhabitable. I won’t even mention how our schools are falling behind the rest of the world. It is hard to be a super power when everything you need is becoming second rate.

Shut down the government, get blasted by the media, win even more seats in (a gerrymandered) Congress. Not what I’d call a mallet.

In the Fox Bubble, that makes sense. You are trying to bring reality into that bubble. Whenever reality sneaks into the bubble, the inhabitants freak out and beat it to death.

It doesn’t matter what stupid stuff Congress does in September if the voters don’t remember in November.

As when a criminal holds a hostage; when he doesn’t get what he wants, he shoots the hostage, it’s the family’s fault. They didn’t give him what he wanted. Simple.
