Thanks for the thought, Joe, but for us the celebration is on July 1st - Canada Day. We did have fireworks and my dog reacted pretty much the way Wolfie did.

I can’t imagine what fireworks must sound like to our dogs, etc. with their much better hearing. We’ve certainly had our share of dogs who freaked at this time every year, especially when we had neighbors enamored of setting off fireworks weeks in advance and after the actual date.
That being said, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, USA! Thanks to all of those past and present who have served to make us a free nation. Also a belated HAPPY CANADA DAY!
As a Civil War reenactor artillerest, I have a horse who will stand next to my cannon and won’t even flinch when it shoots. As a captain, I command while mounted on her.
