Hot dogs, vanilla wafers, taco shells & lard. Sounds like something I saw on "Chopped " .

In that case I would’ve just spread some gravy on top. God Bless all the people out there that struggle to eat everyday because of a lack of food.

Different ingredients because they were different times. But I had one set of grandparents who did stuff along that line. Cook stuff inside a pepper and you never really know what it is.

When I was “between husbands” My girls and I ate this sort of thing.

Agnes look at it this way, at least being poor causes you to be creative.

Yuck! Is her grandmother related to Oscar the Grouch? Or is she pregnant?

Poverty sucks.

I started to feel sorry for Agnes, but I realized she doesn’t feel sorry for herself. Poor with dignity. We should all be humbled by it.

When I was little I played with a family of 5 girls, Mom kept having babies, eventually there were 13, The girls I played with took sandwiches of lard sprinkled with sugar to school. I thought they were delicious! Kids only know love, “things” don’t matter unless someone points it out to them.

One place we lived had a pay phone in the apartment, This was mid 1930s. i remember Sunday dinner being a bowl of rice with a little sugar and milk.

Kardashians aren’t real? But . . . But . . . But ? ? ?
