Bigger in Texas! A giant 8 FT wide vortex- large enough to swallow an entire boat- opened up in Texas' Lake Texoma in June 2015. The Sangli sisters of India- whose faces are covered in thick hair- suffer from one of the world's rarest medical conditions: Hypertrichosis, or werewolf syndrome. I give up!! The snow at the South Pole is too dry and powdery to make snowballs.

At another lake, in 1980, an oil drill accidentally penetrated a salt mine. The resultant whirlpool sucked in the oil drilling platform, barges, trees, and some 65 acres of surrounding land.

My ex-step-mother lives next to that lake. A six to eight foot-diameter vortex was caused when officials opened up the Denison Dam to drain the overflowing lake. Lake Texoma officials decided to drain the lake since it was in flooding condition from four weeks of heavy rain.

Anyone who has lived in snow country knows that snow is often too dry and powdery due to very cold temperatures. I think I had learned that by the time I was 5. So it’s true at the South Pole also? Big whoop. No surprise.
