The colder the temperature, the drier the snow. The drier the snow, the easier it is to shovel.

At another lake, in 1980, an oil drill accidentally penetrated a salt mine. The resultant whirlpool sucked in the oil drilling platform, barges, trees, and some 65 acres of surrounding land.

If an 8-foot wide vortex opened up and swallowed Donald Trump, it would probably spit him back out.

My ex-step-mother lives next to that lake. A six to eight foot-diameter vortex was caused when officials opened up the Denison Dam to drain the overflowing lake. Lake Texoma officials decided to drain the lake since it was in flooding condition from four weeks of heavy rain.

Jogger2’s story about Lake Peigneur in LA is interesting. A rather dry, documentary can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_feWtkSucvE

Anyone who has lived in snow country knows that snow is often too dry and powdery due to very cold temperatures. I think I had learned that by the time I was 5. So it’s true at the South Pole also? Big whoop. No surprise.
