Himm- Exotic, huh? I take it that cruise to the South Pole is “out of the running”, now… – Frank’s trying to sell her on the fact that if you squint reaaaly hard, and just happen to wake up on the right side of the bed that morning… have an “open mind” about it, and have a nice cup of coffee, before you start, you just might see how romantic and exciting scraping knuckles, stepping into trays of paint and spending both your savings and the bonus of also having someone elses’ investment money could be…. – Not to mention applying new surfaces for the concession areas and the restrooms- “Aah, I just love the smell of tile grout in the morning!”….

Actually, I’d put Brazil right up there with Thailand, the Netherlands Antilles, Fiji, or any island off of the Northwest Mediterranean coast…. – Or any shopping center/mall with a nice beverage and pastry bar that just happens to be nice and quiet on the day that you want to go….and a parking space right at the door….

I’m thinking it’ll turn out to be hugely successful as something completely unanticipated. Maybe a wedding destination, a dog racing track, a microbrewery or recording studio. Not at all what they planned, but Frank and Nancy will get out with enough money that they can, umm, go right back to the house they’ve lived in all these years and have enough in the bank to get sucked into TJ’s next dumb idea.

Tiff’s father might help bank-role it — provided Tiff is the star of all performances, of course. .However that might require sending Luann off to Peru to pick up sticks..But maybe best not have Jonah a key actor at the Theater.Maybe he could be bartender at the Bistro though. Well, T.J. might preempt that..Ox is a natural for bouncer. .This plan might even keep Quill from departing for NY.

Wonder if any thought has been given to the possibilities that there very may be environmental problems with a old commercial property / building..Soil contamination..leaking bad fluids…definitely good chance of lead and asbestis problems that can suck up cash very quickly way before they get to rehabbing the building itself…also the cost of commercial kitchen equipment t.theater expenses..seating , electrical, staging, lighting and spotlights…

Good thing we are talking about a comic strip adventure…In the real world…the $60 thou and their own dollars wouldn’t even come close…I know I am a old grouch with no sense of adventure…

So, all these Years of Frank DeGroot, the Sole Bread-Winner,the Thrifty, Sensible Spender, the Relentless Penny-Pincer,the Crown Prince of Frugal Living, have NOW Been COMPLETELY Tossed Out the Window, in Order to Advance a Questionable Plot Twist.

Giving up a Homes and Jobs, a (Kinda) Sure Thing in favor of something You Know Absolutely NOTHING About, in Partnership with a KNOWN Con-Artist.

What Happened, Frank? Did You Wake Up STUPID today??

[With a robust, dark Egyptian Roast coffee beside me, and a bowl of dark, cherry tinctured burley in my pipe, I sit back and try to analyze the following quote:“Isn’t it time for something for us?”Uh, ok. Let us examine:1) Well, I can see making a bistro for who knows who to hang out in is for “us” (sarcasm).2) Well, I can see making a theater for Quill, Tiffany, and Jonah to act in is for “us” (sarcasm, again).3) Well, I can see where making a club for all the Moony and Pitts CC kids to hang out in is for “us” (coughing fit).4) Well, I can see how making an art space for Luann, Jacque, and Emo is for “us” (rolling of eyes). I truly cannot fathom how Frank can be seriously contemplating this venture. Nancy, you seriously need to reign this in and save your husband (not to mention your future retirement funds) from himself. I have no idea what is going on in Frank’s head (mid-life crisis?), but he is clearly going off the deep end! Nancy, be a hero…. stand up for what you know is logical and important! It may be hard to have to crush this pipe dream of Frank’s but….. in the long run, it will be benefiting both of you.

In 1997, three young men, ages 19, 20 and 21, opened a store in Davis, California and named it Ground Zero Clothing and Board Shop. The 19 year old was bought out, but the other two learned from the hard work they put into it and became very successful. I am sure Frank and Nancy have more experience and knowledge than they realize. If two college age men can do it, so can Frank and Nancy.

SueB1863 said, Also, partnering with “Insurance Fraud” TJ wasn’t the best idea either. I’d worry a lot more about trusting him. Brad should tell them about his suspicions that TJ torched his own truck for the insurance money, because he likely wouldn’t hesitate to do the same thing to the warehouse if it doesn’t turn a profit. . . . "-——————————-To begin with, there was no insurance fraud..T.J. only recouped his investment, and was happy about it (since he was tired of a business that was going nowhere). That made Brad suspicious, but we know better.,However, I do predict that at some point the warehouse will burn down. .That may, of course, be a couple years away, even in Luann-time.
