I could’a bought some waterfront property for twenty to thirty thousand a lot—-but there was that pesky “dead flat broke” thing haunting me at the time.

Read the other comments. Very often, when someone asks a question this far down, it’s already been answered. That’s 5.

This is what’s happening in Southern Delaware right now. It’s exploding with development, (too fast, and not always responsibly,) although outsiders still think it’s the ‘Slower Lower,’ and nothing more than beaches and farms. We need an Apple Store, but Apple hasn’t noticed the rapid growth yet.

The little one is 5. His parents had a thing where they deemed names to be obsolete, and called their kids by numbers instead. You can see the number on his shirt if you look at the higher resolution image. However, like Shermy and the original Patty, he mostly faded into obscurity after a short while, which is why it is so unusual to find all three together with speaking parts.

I’m probably wrong but I’m assuming this strip is about Freedom of Speech.

If it is then I applaud Charles Schulz. If it isn’t, I still applaud Charles Schulz because Peanuts is an awesome strip!

Even pro athletes can sometimes wander off topic during a game. Joe Montana famously interrupted calling a play in the huddle once, to point out to his teammates that comedian John Candy was in the crowd. This was at the Super Bowl!

Let’s see; Charlie is pitcher, Schroeder is catcher. Linus is 2nd base (because it’s been established that he and shortstop Snoopy are ‘a great double-play combination’). I’ve seen Shermy at first, although that looks like a regular fielder’s glove. Charlie talks several times about his ‘girl outfielders’ that seem to include Lucy, Frieda and Patty (does Violet ever play for the team?) so ‘5’ must play 3rd base.

    So where does Pigpen play??

A guy as nuts as 5’s dad I doubt researched the real estate value in the area prior to moving there. Only a nut job would change the families names to numbers and their last name to a zip code as a way of “giving in.”
