Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for June 11, 2015
Transcript:
Calvin: "Look at this, Hobbes. I added it up and figured out I spend and average of four days a year taking baths!" Calvin: "Four full days-morning, noon, and night- just sitting in the stupid bathtub! What could possibly be a bigger waste of time than that?!" Hobbes: "How long did it take you to add this all up?"

That wasn’t a waste of time; Calvin developed his math skills.

What’s truly remarkable is that Calvin was able to add it all up!

Your wasting your time talking to your tiger which is just making your shower longer.

When you get older, Calvin, relaxing in the bath will be known as “quality time.”

He should probably ask Miss Wormwood to double check those figures.

I laughed hard the first time, and after reading the comments I went back to the strip and laughed hard again!

I remember when my girlfriend and I were standing around watching her cat watching water drip out of the kitchen faucet when a similar question occurred to us.
I think you and your girlfriend need to get out more often…snerk

How I see it is Calvin only does math when he’s trying to prove something. When he wants to. The reason why Calvin doesn’t like doing math homework in his mind he’s doing math for no reason, so he doesn’t want to. If you want him to do math homework, make him want to!

15 minutes a day? Sounds correct. Well done, Calvin!

When my son was Calvin’s age, he came up to me and said, “I’m dirty.” I said, “You’re washable”.

I have noticed where some will spend twice the time & effort to evade a task that would have been required to simply do it.

I told Hobbes I wouldn’t put up with it. That’s why he’s not here today. Ha! (fiendish laugh)

And it took me less than minute to figure it out.

Hobbes (the commenter) made a cameo appearance. It’s hard to keep a good man down. Otherwise, ‘Eider’ succeeded.

Hobbes has a point here. This one made me laugh.
