Well, we don’t know how much later this is. I wonder if Tracy and Sam are on the way there. As for the hit by the whip, he may not have been hit all that hard.

Good morning Tracy fans. The gold will not be easy to find.________Good morning Gweedo the Great. I just finished watching a live program (via Internet) of the planet Saturn which is currently in opposition. The live feed was from one of the SLOOH telescopes in the Canary Islands. Bob Berman narrated the program. Images of Saturn were somewhat fuzzy but we’re better than I expected. _________Have a great day my friends.

So, now, apparently not even Jimmy knows where the gold is hidden. Now we’re in trouble. It looks like Jimmy should have supervised the burying of the gold in person.

“Wait a minute! This is gold! Totally useless for sprinkling on your food or melting ice! Ditch it!”

The salt mine operation could be problematic but I think it’s best not to say why until at least another day.

Small truck to haul away a whole train car full of gold. The weight of the gold has possibly made it sink deep into the sand or dirt, & it will probably soon end up down in the salt mine. Otherwise, why mention the salt mine if it doesn’t have anything to do with the gold somehow.

Whoa! Salt mine?! Plus gas company and drilling rig? Plus unsupervised burial of the gold by nameless lackeys? Plus Ted Tellum?When life gets complicated, it tends to get really messy, really fast.Hurry, Tracy and Sam!

That gold must be dehydrated. Jimmy (if he finds it) will need to add water to it after he hauls it to it’s destination!

My prediction is Jimmy will kill Ted, thinking he stole the gold.

Im thinking Ted Tellum is gonna be taking a shovel to the noggin pretty soon

The Lake area is a “Bee- Hive”, of drilling activityStaffed with many to observe any unusual or ‘questionable’ activity ! ?

As Tracy lunges, with ‘thin air’ Hunches . . .

Jimmy holds ‘trumps’ in Spades, having wiped out 2 aides . . . quick ‘assassination’ . . . now a culmination of all alone, and ‘mopping up’ - beads of perspiration !

I wouldn’t be surprised if Tracy had followed that tunnel all the way to the lake, found the gold, and had it removed secretly. Then he would just have to wait for the thieves to show themselves.

I think that mining apparatus is a road header.

The salt miners could strike gold from below before Jimmy digs down from above.

Or…as nemo5012 speculated the salt miners could create a hole that causes water to rush in and drain the lake.

Several years ago, contractors setting a pylon in the Chicago River accidentally punched the pylon through the bottom of the river into a tunnel system running under the river. Water rushed in flooding all of the basements of the entire Chicago downtown area. So nemo’s speculation is not so far fetched.

Do any of you think that panel 3 is a waste because it states the obvious?Panel three tells us for the first time about the salt mine in the area, so it is new information.

Well now, you have two drill rigs working in a lake and a salt mine operating close by. So with the makings of a giant sink hole to swallow up the hidden gold, Ted’s comment about not buying the mineral rights when he had the chance may, indeed, loom large in weaving this tale to closure.

Gold will be found by The Mole and his friends. Stature of limitations on it passed and original insurance already paid off.Mole uses the money/reward(?) to help all the underground people he leads, and start his new family!! Jimmy has a coronary and dies without a bullet!!!

It slipped my earlier intention to thank Neil for his keen (and helpful), research on the likely weight of the Gold shipment to better quantify the effort, and leading to his perspective on how many trips Jimmy vehicle might need to make if he tried to move the gold elsewhere’ !

When a planet (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus or Neptune) is in direct alignment with the Earth (on the same side of the Sun as the Earth) it is said to be in opposition. Have an abundant evening my friend.

The gold has only just been stolen, how can the statute of limitations pass so quickly?

I think the idea is that the gold might show up years later. Somehow, I don’t see that happening because the story probably has to be slightly more self-contained than that. Anyway, we really have no idea what happened to the gold or where it is now. I wonder if we’ll find out.

You’re welcome. I was just trying to picture whether it was a possible idea at all, knowing it wasn’t very practical, anyway. It took looking up some facts and doing a few calculations, but I think I have a better handle on the situation after that.

I don’t think it’s a waste. It’s a foreshadowing of something important to come, involving the salt mine, the existence of which we know nothing about until now.

I wonder how Jimmy even stayed in business because his plan is so full of holes you could drive a truck through it. His plan to steal the gold worked well but then no well thought out plan to move the gold. Trying to do it all himself is insane so why did he get rid of his staff? If he didn’t murder them it wouldn’t have attracted the police and he wouldn’t be in such desperate straits now. By the way where’s Axelrod?

By the way, it was interesting to see the measurements on the weight of the gold. It points out what a difficult task it would be to move it all. Obviously, we now know that the lake is a very busy place and not a secure place for temporary storage. Probably would have been better to park a few large load trucks and load the gold right to the trucks instead of burying it. Well, Tracy used to say criminals aren’t smart.
