   I know this is a late post, but I would like to thank you (on behalf of the whole family) for your kind and loving words about my dad.Visiting and commenting on this site was the highlight of his day, and he always made mention of the friends he made here at GoComics and at the Dick Tracy Board, making known that you all were very important friends to him.So again I thank you all for being there in his life and sharing his love for Dick Tracy, and I’m so sorry that you also lost a friend.

   Good Morning everyone,

   This is Sarah Jane, Sydney Phillips’ daughter. If you’ve haven’t heard from my dad in a while , it was because he was very ill, and last night he passed away. I just thought I should make mention of it , knowing how much he enjoyed coming to this site to read Dick Tracy, and conversing with you all. Thank you for being his friend.

   What with the “likeness” of Dick Tracy all over Li’l Abner’s comic pages ! ?

   Some ‘timely’ LIP there from Lizz !

   Perhaps the old ‘memory’ is fading.(/) . . .But can’t recall her ‘saying/doing’ anything of much greater note or consequence in recent times ? ?What comes to mind - was her gracious ‘Stepping Down’; as Chief to allow a Patton return

   But, I guess … she’s had to take a “back seat” during T – Bolt’s front page “Filibusters”(?) when the latter (Lee Ebony) disguised, ‘sucked up’ all the oxygen in the strip for several months (. . . including Top of the Team “Martial Arts” recognition*!* :-)

   But to give Mike and Joe their “JACKETS” - T – Bolt’s a truly ‘memorable’, their Best “Character Creation” . . . one, that only takes a 2nd Place to the inlmitable - Doubleup !!

   Pity she’s just a Disguise and not an “Original” in her own right !

   “As I looked over the 1967 strips I wondered why the Chin Chillars thought that hiding out at Piggy’s farm was a good idea? With a vehicle like the Space Coupe you can get to any place in the world in minutes . . .”-————————————————-

   My ‘recall’ from the time, was that the Silos on that farm … bore a “strong physical resemblance” to an upright Space Coupe, thereby creating a near natural disguise (or camouflage) for their Space Craft !

   Additionally, that City was “Home”, and instinctively (if safe) they preferred to be there (?)Further, that it likely belonged to a farmer … they had ‘no idea’ that it was actually the HQ of gangster Piggy Butcher

   In the midst of today’s reader reflection on past events and the pleasing poetic comments . . .Joe Staton hits the Teams Sunday page out of the Park with his solid black rendition of Notta in panel 5 !

   Take a long look at those beautifully ‘stretched’ eye-lashes – and savor the entire composition of the panel !

   While the “close up” of Purdy’s face (above) - his closed eyes - continues to remind us that since his modern return, he hasn’t “seen” anything . . .But that long ear seems to ‘signal’ - that he might well be “hearing” and recalling all that’s being said ! (?)

   I’d think it’s ‘time’ now - for Purdy to return to LIFE and take part in events. Would be unfortunate if he continued to appear ‘near dead’ in his wheel chair ! Frozen forever in silence, and unable to take part in any event !

   HIS FACE LOOKS LIKE ??

   I think we already KNOW . . .From his stint back in prison (Oct. 10, 2013) when we saw his unvarnished FACE … at Rikki visit to ‘tell’ him of his upcoming ‘prison break’ !

   Hardly ‘think’ the Authorities would allow disguises or cosmetics in prison ! ?So my take IS, we were seeing the Raw Cabbage back then ! ?

   The more recent (look -a-like) *Mask*left on the table, during his visit to the Bathroom must have been a “Double-Fake” - to suggest that the “real” face looked otherwise. ?

   Not ‘aware of any promise by Mike, to *’show’* his real face … at some future event ? ? ?

    Those panels from 1967 with Piggy Butcher … certainly help to throw a useful perspective on the ‘useful’ adaptable “foibles” (if I can ‘call’ them that ;-) of Notta Chin Chillar to navigate through life !
