Is this reverse psychology? Obama knows that if he’s in favor of something, most of the Republican congress will automatically be against it.

It is peculiar, isn’t it? Free-trade deals are generally something strongly favored by the Repugs. Yet, like mandatory health insurance (also originally a Repug proposal), when it’s put in place by a Demi-crat, they just can’t bring themselves to support it lest said Demi-crat gets credit for doing something. Then they campaign on a claim that the Demi-crats can’t govern effectively and can’t get anything done. It’s a strategy that’s all about taking power without regard for the well-being of the country or the citizenry.

This is one of few times I think Toles got it wrong. The real struggle is between Obama and his OWN party. People like Elizabeth Warren are asking why the heck this is a secret law and requires fast-tracking. Obama says any member of Congress can look at any time. Sure – but they can’t keep a copy or speak about it. Who is it being kept secret from? US.A lot of Republicans are gung-ho for this, because they may be anticipating the same kind of cheap off-shoring we got post-NAFTA (a major accomplishment of Clinton the Republican).I don’t like it. It stinks.

The secret clauses of this new trade agreement was most likely written by the private parties who want it, and will greatly benefit by it. As if GATT and NAFTA wasn’t enough!

Obama and the Gops are on the same side. The long arms are standing in for the ten-foot poles he’ll touch them with.

It’s a lousy deal. I hope the liberals can sink it.

Can we trade the current Republican party for the party of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, and Eisenhower?
