Scientist are glad to search for the truth. Religious people think they already have it.

Actually what determines science is not where the music stops but where the money stops.

The hollow part must be below the newly discovered layer of rock researchers have determined is under the mantle 190 miles down that holds in material that’s hotter than the mantle.

Of course scientific conclusions change. It’s called learning. It used to be a good thing. Now that everyone knows everything, we don’t need that anymore.

I just retired from government service. I had plenty of qualified, competent scientists and engineers working for me. And we encourage and pay them to go to training and get advanced degrees so they’ll stay qualified and competent.

@42Irish and @Nabuquduriuzhur wow, you have taken conspiracy theory beyond the tinfoil stage.

@bpullin really? You accuse with no proof. Worse, the competing scientific papers and peer review protocols certainly argue against your conclusions.

Nope. It’s all just disturbing rumors and vague assertions. It’s like shoveling quicksand.

And to me, relegating a structure to a “dwarf planet” is like saying a “treehouse/clubhouse” is a “starter home”. It just feels as though the assembly who voted ended up treating it the same way people complain about politics or NFL board meetings. Agendas being pushed to satisfy the few with power (the record of how the vote went at those meetings shows that it wasn’t some “enlightenment”, but those with the ability to shape the voting seemed able to “have their say”, despite the “dissenting opinions” voiced)….

There is no more scientific evidence that God does not exist than there is that God does exist. True science does not offer an opinion on the subject. Therefore, anyone who cites science as the basis of their opinion that God does not exist is a foolish “scientist”.
