That’s some pretty profound thought for a 6 year old.

time, a concept, exists most exclusively in the grey matter of our human species.

Isn’t this what we all yearn for, to see future events, especially if we will not be able to see them.

    Calvin’s empathy seems so………… so selfless.Wait……. No………..

Two days ago, it must have been very intimidating for Calvin to write a letter to someone who is so much older and wiser. To view the following strips in the archive and help GoComics generate revenue, please click on the blue archive links below. To view the strips directly, click on the images below or stretch them. Here is another example of Calvin realizing that he is older and wiser:Calvin and Hobbes (November 19, 1992)Peanuts (March 30, 1951)Mutts (April 10, 2012)Dark Side of the Horse (August 4, 2010)Pearls Before Swine (September 29, 2014)

We are all time travelers moving along at the rate of one second per second, barely keeping pace with history.

Don’t dwell on it, Calvin. It’s all over and done with, now. And anyway, where does Future Calvin get off, feeling sorry for you? If I were you, I’d go punch him right in the nose!

Of course, when you become a disillusioned adult, it’s more like Tobey Keith’s lyric: "I wish I didn’t know now, what I didn’t know then.

Thank you, GoComics for the print of the first Calvin and Hobbes strip! That Easter Egg contest is a winner. So was I. I don’t comment here much now, but always read Watterson and have most of Bill’s books.

@Nun ‘Ya Bidness: Thanks for your interest and support. When my posted strips are in the first 15 comments, it avoids having to click on “see the rest of the comments” each time. But some mornings there are more than 15 comments before I get out of bed. Nevertheless, as flowergirl19 said, you can right-click on the links and open them in a new tab. Just clicking on the links to the archive helps GoComics generate revenue — you don’t have to comment on the comics in the archive, where hardly anyone will see your comments. By the way, Mutts doesn’t have an archive link because it’s not a GoComics strip.

I think this is what a letter from Calvin’s future self would be like:

“Dear past me, I’m writing to inform you that I’m a cashier working at Wal*Mart and I live in a low-rent apartment all by myself. This is because back when I was you, I hardly applied myself in school, and as a result, I have a mediocre education. Don’t get me wrong, I did graduate, but unlike Susie, not with honors, not to mention I never went to college. Therefore, I am writing to you so you can have a chance to get your priorities straight, which means spending more time on schoolwork and less time playing and/or harassing girls, because I’m what will happen if you don’t. Sincerely, Future Calvin. P.S. I gave Hobbes to charity.”
