I’ll take the turtle, the knife, the flamingo, and the salt/vinegar chips. Oh, and the pillow on the chair. You can keep the chair itself.

One should buy everything one sees, using nothing for money and taking nothing in return. In that way, one wants for nothing and is able to get by, using only what one finds necessary to have at hand in the particular moment, trading currency for current availability. The remainder is stored and even upgraded, free of charge, until needed. In the meantime, the idea of the thing is always available for use in the realm of ideas.I watch. Therefore, I am.

“Relinguish” is a perfectly cromulent word.

Teresa – what is it with your Saturday Arkansas fixation? Admit it. You’re secretly jealous of our cool sophistication, understated elegance and reputation for outsized penetraila.

P.S. Glad to see the turtle is okay. I’ve missed feeding it.

Ironic that this piece criticizing consumerism is being used to advertise the new Calvin & Hobbes book.

@sandboilI agree in principle with your statement, not necessarily the tone of it. Frog Blog was my homepage, it was the very first thing I looked at when I got home from work in the mornings and I sorely miss it. There can be no substitutions accepted, as you said, it had Teresa all over it, in essence it was Teresa.

@Old Wolf, this was one of the first things that got me started on Frog Applause and why it was so missed during Teresa’s absence.

A quick note tosandboil and JasherX and anyone else who might be curious:The Frog Applause Appreciation Society page and the Frog Blog~Style Lameness ( “style” as “in the fashion of” ) forum were created on May 11, 2013 by Frog Applause aficionado LafInLarry to spread the thick and chewy word of LAMEness amongst the pliable masses and to keep the flame of FROG alive in the hearts of the FA faithful (we’ll get to the _Tsking_ of the UnFaithful in a later post).Such sub-forums as Pulling Up Lame… and A Message to Music Lovers , for example, were created by individual FAAS members as their tithe to the memory of the original FROG BLOG (may it’s name forever be in Bold).Over time, primary posting in many of these sub-forums has fallen to founding member Pepelaputr who has attempted to continue the spirit of LAMEness set down by Our Lady Teresa, whose Stamp of Approval is pending and not at all certain.Frog Blog~Style Lameness in no way attempts to supplant the original FROG BLOG in your daily internet diet (ask your doctor before making changes to your Frog Blog routine). If a bitter pill becomes lodged in your craw when viewing Frog Blog~Style Lameness or any of it’s sister forums, discontinue viewing and go somewhere else.- – - FAAS Rants/Excuses, Chapter One, Psalm One. – - -COMMENTS Section – HERE

Dear Fellow FA Friends:I usually refrain from engaging in intramural FA spats, but may I make a suggestion? I’m not sure that anyone (least of all me) has the market cornered on what the artist thinks, approves, or disapproves. My point is this: I’m not an art critic so I don’t know how to categorize today’s strip or assign it to any specific genre. However, it seems to me to be especially thoughtful, witty and clever, and there are several nods toward pre-hiatus FAs and Frog Blog posts. It is visually compelling to boot. In short there’s a lot in the STRIP ITSELF that lends itself to interpretation, comment and postulation, without engaing in an internecine pissing contest resort to squabbling. What WILL the neighbors think? My Rotty tells me that whitewater junkies can get so focused on the rapids that they sometimes forget to take in the gorgeous scenery that helps create the excitement in the first place. They having a saying to address this: “Don’t forget to look up.”Today’s FA is pretty damn darn cool. So while you’re pounding away at those keyboards …. Don’t forget to look up.

    Sincerely,Rotifer’s Mother

Just curious if the tiny trumpet comes with the turtle? Does he play? Is that what our good Lady Teresa has been up to all this time? I can imagine teaching a turtle to trumpet would be a long and arduous process. Thank you for the new word Teresa. They are always a welcome addition. .I don’t know or really care if my opinion counts, but I have enjoyed the Frog Blog style Lameness page. We all miss the blog so very much. No one can replace her style, but I don’t think that’s what was being done. The lameness page has filled a small part of the hole in my heart left by the absence of the real thing. Keep up the good work kids and the naysayers should just try to maybe look the other way and say naymore.

Here are some of the lyrics to the song Madame Arianne posted:

I nearly missed a rainbowI nearly missed a sunsetI nearly missed a shooting star going by

While lookin’ at my feet, at a crack in the sidewalkAn old tin can by the side of the roadI nearly missed a rainbowI nearly missed a sunsetI nearly missed a shooting star going by

While studying a brand new hole in my sneakerAnd finding a quarter and an old bus tokenI nearly missed a rainbowI nearly missed a sunsetI nearly missed a shooting star going by

Looking down at the ground means you know where you’re goingNo head up in the clouds to lead you astrayBut you can’t ever have any kind of dream that way

Oh dear! I just heard in my head how that last line could sound. Please insert a " : ) " after “pal”, and a " ; ) " after “The check is in the mail.” Tone can be so tricky in text. (I’m just a soul whose intentions are good…)
