It is likely that the reason they get less press is because they are in Africa. The Christians who were killed in France managed to get some press.

I am not condoning the paradox, but slaughters have been occurring for decades in Africa, and we did nothing and paid no attention. Neither the Tutsis nor the Hutus in Rwanda are Christians, but the slaughter was horrific.

I’ve been reading South African FB pages and newspapers of this massacre over the course of the past week, and there is still some confusion. I first got wind of it a couple days after it happened and after I had read of the reports of the multinational army camp being over-run (only Nigerian soldiers were present at the time). The enormity and scale came later. Info was sketchy (and deceitful via FB) but I asked Nigerian mates at work: they were unaware of it at all. What was dominating the news was the Paris attack, coinciding on the same day.So why don’t we know much about it and why is it slow in gaining traction?

What happened in Baga, Nigeria? – Mail & Guardian, South Africa

" But two weeks after the massacres in the neighbouring towns and as many as 16 surrounding villages, we still don’t know exactly how many died. “No one stayed back to count bodies,” one survivor told Human Rights Watch.

“There are no journalists, government officials, soldiers or independent monitors in Baga at present. The area remains under the control of Boko Haram. There are no internet connections and mobile phones have not worked in months since jihadists destroyed cellphone masts in the area.”

Unfortunately, on FB in order for it be spread, sensationalist reports with very graphic images started circulating, which turned out to be images stolen from other accidents or conflicts. That dented the credibility of the event. There was no need for deceitful iamges, a massacre had occured, so why the need for bullshit?Looks like we need Western journos in order for Western press to check out whether the bear shat in the woods.

Gaza, people trapped, fight back, 3 Israeli cvilians killed, so Likud/Netanyahu kills over 2,000 civilans in Gaza. Iraq/Afghanistan. Obviously those with sophisticated drones, bombers, and armed helicopters doing the killing are far more “sophisticated” than those using improvised devices- defending their own lands from invaders.

The nut cases in Boko ARE a tad different, but only a tad.

“What do moderate Christians do against extremist Christians here? Nothing. No matter how many they kill, blow up, etc.”..Citation please. Current mass killings or bombings that are either explicitly motivated by Christianity or that the perpetrators claim are motivated by Christianity. .That keeps the even playing field, since ISIS and Al Quaeda… and Boko Haram, and the French shooters certainly claim to be motivated by Islam.

" @libsmasher: You’re just like those African tribes.".Yep, yep, yep. Him posting that comment is exactly the same as their mass killings. Totally equivalent. To you at least.

Exactly!! Liberals are only ok with the killing of Christians. In liberal world, that is the only religious group that it is ok to persecute.

Boko Haram has been all over the news. I have no idea what the whiners want anyone to do about it — unless they’ve decided the US has too many 18-24 year olds again and we need to slaughter some more in a war without goals.
