Down in Texas, we have Nopal cactus covered with cochineal insects to produce a natural red dye. Interesting, but I don’t intend to farm them.

I don’t think anyone actually knows who truly invented the wheel or the lever; but, wasn’t it Archimedes who first put them together to make a useful tool?

“Remember the entire Gulf of Mexico? The oil is still there down further in a smothering blanket. But it is “wacko” to not want it there.”…Well, you have seen it, of course, so I will take your word for it and not even wonder why such a disaster doesn’t have gigabytes of pictures and video dedicated to it on the Internet, home of the documentation of the destruction of the planet by people who aren’t as good as the people who really know and care.

What was funny to me was that the Zebra Mussels cleaned up the Great Lakes, many of whom hadn’t seen sunlight reach the bottom in more than a hundred years. They filtered out the suspended solids..Okay, they don’t taste all that good, but they are great at environmental cleanup.

In the 1930’s there were times when big tar balls were found on the beaches facing the Pacific Ocean. Kid’s got very adept at scraping tar off their feet.
