Make a good guess, Chalkie, who did so. No, not the barkeep.

He’s lucky to have the drink. Andy’s been known to take a free standing drink. Even from a mate.

Andy Capp and modern technology just don’t mix. I don’t recall even one funny example where the two mixed. (Then again, Andy doesn’t mix well with Guitar Bob or Trivia Night……….)

Gweedo – It’s legal here !!! – Murray said, about 13 hours ago

Nope ! Some shows are just good, even after multiple viewings.-Well, at least you didn’t beat me to the punch on something I would say. -I find that when certain people are out the place gets a little deathly quiet !The same as what….-I can see that, but being ‘busy’ with a loved one would be a lot more fun than just strictly ‘being busy’. I have started on the upper cabinets. Pulled some containers that I will be donating along with stuff that is just extra and will be recycled. -I worked at a Total gas station convenience store in the late ‘90s and did stock work and pricing as well as cleanup around the place. Stocking the walk-in cooler was kinda fun. Stocking the motor oil the least, as you would invariably run across a “wet” bottle. Not so bad when pulling it from the box and wiping before placing, but messy when one on the shelf had oozed out the cap and you had to pull a bunch of them to get it all cleaned up. I cleaned the pumps and around outside and emptied trash. In one corner was a small kitchen setup for making the burritos and other stuff, I forget what. Sabrina and her older sister Marsha(?) worked it mostly. An old girl who was of the Ertl family that owned a farm outside of town was there doing the food stuff when I started. I liked her. -I’m glad I don’t sleep next to you. You sound like a loud alarm clock ! -Thank you. I was always fascinated with the books and instruction sheets that have photos and/or diagrams that accompanied detailed descriptions of what to do. My fave being the older car manuals that really got you through a job. Current off the shelf ones cover too many years of your model and often the photos are not of the exact one you are dealing with. I have a Chiltons for the Tahoe and find myself doing some guessing and actually have gotten some good info from online forums. -Feel free to jump; the net is ready.-No more whittling ! -Throwing a transitional Thursday to Finally…. over sea and dale.__________________________________________________

Some people find that they spot new things every time they watch the same thing on TV a lot of times.-I will try not to do that. I know you don’t like people stealing your thunder!-I’ve noticed that too, I know it’s stupid and a bit childish but I sometimes wish that people didn’t have such busy lives because the busier they are, the less we see of them. My life is busier now than it used to be but I still find time for GoComics.-There will always be certain tasks in a job which you don’t enjoy. It would be rare for a person to enjoy doing every task there is.-In 2010, I worked in a stationary shop which also sells books, magazines and toys. It was only work experience though and unpaid just like the charity shop. Schools in the UK require students who are about 15 years old to do work experience for a week. Although it was 4 days in my case because it was near the Easter Holidays. The school arranges it and gives you a letter to show the manager. I wish I could have worked there longer because I enjoyed it.-I put prices on books, arranged magazines in order and removed stickers from packs of pens in the stock room. That last task I didn’t enjoy because my fingers were sore after trying to get stickers off plastic packs and I ended up getting sticky stuff up my fingernails. Another task involved me working behind the till sorting out packets of cigarettes with a member of staff who had a checklist.-I am glad you find online forums to be helpful for you. You can nearly always rely on them.-OK. I’m ready to jump… 1…2…3…. OUCH! The net wasn’t there! Now I’m going to have to clean my cuts and get some plasters. Sigh.-May you have a very Happy Thursday!

Actually, I’ve been having problems as well. I use Avast (paid version). I have to temporarily disable the extension in Chrome so that the comics will magnify.

I used to work in the I.T. department at a hospital. After dealing with Norton and McAfee I swore they would NEVER be on any of my computers. I like Avast because it is one of the best at not choking your resources. Between it and a weekly scan with Malwarebytes I haven’t had any infections.
