This is why I like senior programs with older presenters/speakers – the in jokes – that they can use with us because their normal audience(s) just doesn’t understand or appreciate.

One of the greatest inside jokes I ever knew in a movie was in Romancing the Stone. When she’s trying to convince Michael Douglas to guide her back to town and she offers him travelers checks and he asks if they’re American Express. The joke is that Michael was in Streets of SanFrancisco with Carl Mauldin and Carl was the pitch man for American Express.
