@nosirrom from yesterday:Your video was 560×315 (16×9, not 4×3). To post it with a 355 width you multiply the 315 by 355/560 (rounds to 200). So, the width is 355 and the height is 200 (not 255) in the iframe tag.4×3 videos are 420×315, and to convert them to a 355 width, you multiply 315 by 355/420 (rounds to 266). So the width is 355 and the height is 266 (not 255) in the iframe tag.

Um …, not exactly sure what you’re getting at. A 4:3 video that’s 315 high will be 420 wide. A 16:9 video that’s 315 high will be 560 wide. I’m talking about iframe tag values; what the browser uses for the size of the displayed image. To me, changing the width/height ratios will only end up skewing the image (making it wider or thinner than it was meant to be). In what I’ve embedded, those are the only two sizes I’ve seen (doesn’t mean there aren’t others). All the videos I’ve embedded have fullscreen capability, if the reader wants to use that.

I confine the display to the comment window:1) as a courtesy to the reader (what’s outside the window can be obscured by GoComics ads).2) not doing so violates the GoComics member contract.I couldn’t care less if it’s centered (as 355 does, 360 provides a larger image for 4:3 videos). As for banding on the sides, I think you’ll find the video posted by @nosirrom yesterday (using the unmodified iframe tag provided by youtube.com) has the same black borders as this 352 (multiple of 16) width, 198 height, using my recipe:Mine are thinner, so I take it shrunk proportionately. If I increase the height to 298, the preview is skewed, and when played, the horizontal black bars are much wider; but, the video is the same height:So, increasing the height, doesn’t change the displayed video, just makes the comment look more important (though it may not be obvious here, I try to minimize the size of my comments). You say fullscreen has nothing to do with the iframe tag values. Then why is allowfullscreen one of them? (rhetorical). But, I never said anyone was wrong. You are the one who made that statement. If yours works, fine. So does mine.
