Reminds me of an old Hong Kong documentary on The Travel Channel. They showed how to make tea and the many flavours one tea shop had. The owner of that shop described Lipton Tea as ‘flavoured water’.
Different place. The one in Austin had higher quality fish than what you often find here, and they don’t deep fry it.My wife loves sushi. She just thinks that the Japanese restaurants don’t serve the freshest, best fish anymore.
She has. Again, the quality of the fish isn’t very good. We used to live in Tokyo, with access to the most expensive places in Ginza, and the Tsukiji fish market. We once visited Tsukiji at 7 in the morning to have breakfast with fish right off the boats. Couldn’t get any fresher than that. She knows her fish, and she’s not happy with what’s being served in Japan now.

Funny. My wife (Japanese) hates Japanese sushi. Her favorite restaurant was Sushi Sake in Austin, TX.

I’ve been wanting to get back to Hokkaido for years. May have to go by myself…
