The sky is falling!!!!I’m sure Tommy Troles rides a skateboard to work, lives with his family in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment and heats his home with solar panels in the winter…lol. My guess is that he’s more of an Al Gore type of earther.

^^Republican/Fox “news” viewers are required to believe in Obama Death Panels, but are not allowed to believe there is such a thing as climate change.

but, to the gop, doing actions to combat climate change will hurt the economy and stop making themselves money.

Try dropping a scoop of ice cream on a hot sidewalk. The ice cream will cover a larger and larger area of sidewalk as it melts, and a larger and larger portion of the sidewalk will be cooled in the process. That doesn’t mean the ice cream isn’t melting. You have to consider the whole picture.

Ever since Reagan removed the solar panels from the White House, Republicans have fought a long, thankless battle to assure us that there is no cause for alarm. Things are OK as they are. Bush II constantly reminded us that the matter of global warming needs more study, and that he wasn’t going to upset the delicate balance of investments vs profits. He even sought to soothe our concerns over man-made acceleration of climate change by carefully editing out from reports projections by scientific studies (even his own) , which wasted so much money and man-hours taking core samples from the polar regions, measuring the carbon content of our atmosphere, monitoring temperature of our ocean currents. What a waste of taxpayer money! And to think, that these scientific “elitists” were actually recommending that our industries take preventive measures by limiting fossil-fuel emissions, investing in alternative energy sources and stop dumping in the oceans!!Do you know how much money that would cost the “job-creators”?

We should all be grateful for all the stonewalling efforts of the republicans, who are trying to save us from ourselves!

There have been plenty of times throughout history, before industrialization that the Earth was actually WARMER than today.

Some posters would be happier in China. China has a system for warning its population about dangerous air quality, but as the quality continues to become worse, the criteria for warning gets changed also.

China has also started a propaganda program about poor air quality. (If they were more like us, they’d call it a “war”.) It’s a good thing, because it provides a common enemy. Deniers, meet your match.

And what’s the worst that would happen if we actually chose to clean our air and water? Even if it has nothing to do with climate change, we would have fewer respiratory ailments, our food supply would have a fighting chance of improving, and cancer rates would likely fall, as well. But those, evidently, are not enough motivations for some.

What can we make of people who complain bitterly about what kind of economic catastrophe we will be leaving our grandchildren, but who could care less if we leave far more people with far less to eat?

Old Indian proverb: Only when the last fish has been caught, only when the last tree has been felled, only when the last river has been tainted, only then will man realize that you cannot eat money.

Climate changes without Man, but that’s no reason to ignore the potential disaster we face from our own additions to the process.

The GOP is scared pantsless of taking common sense precautions to minimize the effect we have on our environment. It’s like they’re worried we might have cleaner air and water without the threat of a world-changing catastrophe. That we might improve everyone’s life “for nothing”!

“While Reagan was president leaky Solar panels that powered a bathroom light was removed. Now Obama spends how much on Solar panels to supply enough energy for 22 light bulbs and he is a hero?”-The panels didn’t leak, and they were designed to heat water not produce electricity so they didn’t power any light. Do you research anything?

That works just like religion, doesn’t it. Do what I say or you’ll burn in hell- and we know it’s true, because no one has ever been able to prove it isn’t.

No, the people who disagree about global climate change shouldn’t shut up, but they should put up. If you’ve got a cogent scientific argument, please let us know. I’m all ears.

Since lonecat has been asking for that on this forum for the past several years, he’d have turned blue a long, long time ago.
