and Donkey Hotey: Yours was a refreshingly civil exchange; a nice example of how ideas CAN be exchanged. Question: Why is nobody mentioning that this hateful conversation was had in private? Or am I mistaken in that? Not to say that privacy cleans it up. Disgusting attitudes are disgusting no matter where. But if this was in the privacy of his own home, or a home where he was an invited guest, does this not count as breaking in to his home, dragging him out and hanging him out to dry? Because he has disgusting attitudes? "Cuz, if that’s OK, we ALL need to fear. That being asked / said, I hope the example of civil discourse extends to me.
Russ, I beg your pardon. I am completely baffled by your response, which had nothing to do with what I wrote. I did not mean to offend you by a presumption that A) you could actually read for yourself; and B) that you understood “civil discourse.” It means civilized, courteous interchange of ideas. You can check that with the person who reads to you. And if you are in doubt, I AM speaking to YOU.
Comments in private can often return to bite you in the hinder. Bigotry and racism was long accepted. My parents used “n*****” until 1961. They grew up tossing that around. One ages and learns. Self control of your mouth must be encouraged. This team owner has had other issues with his racism/bigotry. It is high time he was asked to leave the party. Unfortunately he will become richer in the sale of the Clippers (should the sale occur ) and he will become the pister boy for white supremacy.

No matter what the subject or statement, someone is going to be offended.

You replied: “so may I suggest to you, if we are not talking to you then just shut the hell up!!!”
I suppose that’s the last time you can expect to be complimented for being civil. Too bad: compliments are usually hard to come by to begin with.
