why dont you show a muslim with a bomb strapped to him and call it the koran belt…?? oh wait that would mean you would say the truth about muslims and you cant ever say anything bad about them.

So as long as somebody else is bad as well, there’s no need to face our own problems.

I must admit, this approach would leave more time to watch TV.

So only non-religious, gangbanger types should have guns Steve?

so you’re saying that a muslim with a bomb is the equivalent of a RWNJ with a gun? I would have to agree – both attempt to further their cause with violence.

Wow, there’s a lot of confusion here. The law permits people to carry weapons into churches — though churches can establish their own bans.
But that doesn’t eliminate the completely INSANE notion that people could, or even should, have guns in church! It was known as the “guns everywhere” law, and while it doesn’t quite achieve that goal, that is clearly its intent.
I have a lot of family in Georgia. I fear for them.

Is there a southern right wing competition to be more crazy than Florida?

I was once on a date in a bar. We went to leave. My date had a long coat, and in the process of putting it on, the hem of the coat knocked a patron’s beer onto the floor. I instantly signaled the bartender to replace it, offering to pay. This did not stop the patron from wanting to fight me over the incident. What would have happened if that drunk was armed?

Next I expect that we’ll pass a law stating that it’s the bartender’s fault if the shooter gets drunk first.

“If the bar owner banned guns, which most of those interviewed say they will, nothing but fisticuffs, if that.”

This assumes that the bar owner banned guns, and that the patrons chose to adhere to the wishes of the bar owner. Two major assumptions.

“Don’t worry about reality; worry about what’s in your dreams.”

Here’s reality, and I have newspaper clippings to prove them: A mother in Maryland shot her 14-year-old son because he would not give her the TV’s remote control. A man in New York shot his fiancée dead because she made a bonehead bid in their bridge game. A man in Florida asked a carful of youths to turn down their music. They did. He started shooting into the car, and continued shooting as the car was being driven away from him.

Given the “reasons” people give to excuse their choice to use firearms, I’d say I have at least as good a grip on reality as you do.

My continuing confusion is why the National RIFLE Association spends almost all it’s efforts on concealable HAND GUNS. I have a carry permit, and own guns, but the “mentality” of the Georgia (and other “stand your ground” type laws) is just incredibly insane, and dangerous.

BTW: does that gun belt have his name written on the back of it so he can remember his name?

And people beat up and kill other people with their fists, baseball bats, and wrenches.
Well that justifies killing people with guns, doesn’t it?

…it’s the bartender’s fault if the shooter gets drunk first
I believe the verbiage in the law states that people can carry their weapons in the bar, but cannot drink. Therefore, the onus of enforcement is on the bartender. I’ll bet that female 120-pound bartender is all excited about that – or being liable for prosecution because she served the gun-happy dirt bag a drink.
Some walking bag of swaggering testosterone comes into the bar with a (expletive) AR-15 or door-buster slung over his shoulder, I am outta there. Why the hell should I risk my life to assume that fool isn’t a trigger-happy nut job?
