How gratifying to see an editorial cartoonist aware of what’s happening and devoting some thought and space to it.

Yes, the contact info is indeed good, and in more ways than one. Red Cross is the way to go.

Good work, Pab. If you’re a praying person, pray. Whether you are or not, we can all help. There are many great agencies, but Red Cross is definitely one of the best.

I donate to a trusted source too. My local church’s missionaries. (Praise God they all survived the quake.)

And don’t forget, even if you don’t have cash, you can still donate blood.

    And don’t forget to pray!

God bless everyone! (And thanks, Pab, for remembering those in need!)

Thanks LIT - Good idea about donating blood! I rarely cry, but did yesterday while watching a CNN video about the young girl who was rescued but died hours later cause she had to be transported to a different medical facility.

I’m sure the ARC executives will thank you for the money - they’ll use donations for bonuses and staff luxuries, the same way they did for what was given them for 9/11 aid and Katrina relief. If you REALLY want to help the Haitians, give through an honest charity - most of those are run by churches and don’t keep the money for themselves.

Duke, I’ve worked with the Red Cross. You couldn’t be more wrong. They put themselves out there – often at personal risk – day after day, and they are hardly paid high amounts for it.

Pab, thanks for this–the suffering defies the mind’s capacity to comprehend, but somehow, in this format and with this message, it seems like we can actually do something. Thanks for bringing it home.

For those who don’t want to fund the Red Cross, and those (like me) who don’t want to donate to the Salvation Army, may I recommend Doctors Without Borders?

Donating blood is a good thing to do, but not for this cause. Besides time, the only thing you should donate to Haitian relief is money, because that can be converted to anything they need, as they need it. Donated food, water, blankets, blood, etc., cannot practically be distributed and will likely be wasted, and will consume money for transportation that can be better spent directly.
