Just ignore the fact that, when people were leaving, Mayors Big and Kilpatrick both borrowed a lot to cover operating expenses, instead of cutting services.-Just ignore the fact that the City kept raising taxes as property values fell, thus driving out more property owners. -Blaming the bankuptcy solely on unions insisting that pension benefits had to keep pace with inflation is identical to blaming hte US deficit completely and totally on Medicare, and ignoring the billions that were borrowed to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.-But I’m sure that ‘FactChecker’ agrees that the deficit is solely because of greedy geezers and has nothing to do with anything else…..
